This section of Talking Shorts has grown out of the BE SHORT NOW! initiative, which ran from 2018 to 2022 and was founded by the Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón (Spain) and Talents & Short Film Market (Italy), developed in collaboration with Encounters Festival (England, UK), Filmfest Dresden (Germany), Glasgow Short Film Festival (Scotland, UK), Go Short (The Netherlands), Short Waves Festival (Poland) and Vienna Shorts (Austria).
The initiative will live on under the Talking Shorts umbrella. It aims to tackle and investigate specific topics peculiar to the short film industry and share the knowledge with the largest audience possible, making this information available on the internet for free in video or audio recordings.
