European Workshop for Film Criticism #1

FILMFEST DRESDEN & VIENNA SHORTS

What?

The European Network for Film Discourse (The END) and short film magazine Talking Shorts are organizing two multi-day workshop sessions for aspiring film critics during the short film festivals in Dresden (April) and Vienna (June).

Under the guidance of established journalists and film scholars, you will gain insight into journalistic practices and learn the basic craft of film criticism through short films and curated short film programmes. The writing of your texts will be supervised editorially during the festivals, and a selection of the texts will finally be published on Talking Shorts.

Framework

Intensive tandem workshop for film criticism in the context of two film festivals. The workshop units build on each other, but will be thematically different. The lectures will be held in English, your own texts can be written in both English and German.
