What?
The European Network for Film Discourse (The END) and short film magazine Talking Shorts are organizing two multi-day workshop sessions for aspiring film critics during the short film festivals in Lago (July) and Ljubljana (August).
Under the guidance of established journalists and film scholars, you will gain insight into journalistic practices and learn the basic craft of film criticism through short films and curated short film programmes. The writing of your texts will be supervised editorially during the festivals, and a selection of the texts will finally be published on Talking Shorts.
Framework
Intensive tandem workshop for film criticism in the context of two film festivals. The workshop units build on each other, but will be thematically different. The lectures will be held in English.
LAGO FILM FEST (July 24—29, 2023)
FEKK LJUBLJANA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (August 14 – 20, 2023)

He runs the Berlinale Talent Press, a platform for emerging film critics, and the Golden Apricot International Film Festival's Young Critics campus.
